Morning Death

I was in Carmen for 4 days and we were staying beside CTU where there is a fish pond. I had an early morning walk and saw this… it was not a sudden death. They fought but the trap was set and there’s nothing one could do but await for its fate.

We were on the last of the 3-day adventure trip in Tabuelan and from Brgy. Bongon we head down to a hot, sweaty trick to find one of the town’s precious water resource.

Before, far-flung barangays which can’t be reached by the water system has to get all their water needs from natural springs. On drought season, many people still turn to these springs.

It was very rewarding to find the cold water soothe through my aching feet. I was actually tempted to swim but there are at least two more springs to visit and so we contend ourselves with the cold water while trying to hide from the sun under the shade of the tree. We talked about where the spring empties… our guide says we can walk through the banks down a river but the trek would be difficult and there is no way we could keep ourselves dry.

We chanced upon a few people doing laundry while some taking a dip. I love the countryside. Growing up in the city, I didn’t had the chance to enjoy nature at its best. That day, when I went home and in the comfort of my room…I closed my eyes and remembered the cold water on my feet, the birds singing and the sweet air in my lungs. Wish I could bring everything home…☺

It was a privilige to go around Ilocos Norte with no less than Imelda Marcos herself as our tour guide. This was last year days after the great lady celebrated her birthday. We were there for the sisterhood signing with the province of Ilocos Norte.☺

Down south in Oslob, I had the chance to feast on Cebuanos’ typical lunch especially when they have visitors—mais and kinamunggayang bisayang manok (cooked corn grits and native chicken with malunggay).

Burp!

Designer Vania Romoff showcased hablon-inspired line of clothing during the opening ceremony of the 5th One Cebu Expo at the Cebu International Convention Center. Hablon is a kind of weaving popular in the southern towns of Argao and Dalaguete.

Ibirapuera Park is one of the most popular park in Sao Paulo. It is a 400-acre expanse of greens and is the equivalent to Central Park. A lot of people converge in this area for various leisure activities. It is also home to major museums.
Unfortunately, our bus only passed by.

Favela

We passed by a favela or a shanty town in Brazil. I was really looking forward to see one of these shanties if they really look exactly like in the movie City of God (2002). The bus was picking up speed and so I have to contend myself with these shots.☺ The last photo is one of the many favela paintings sold. I brought one, a little smaller for 15$ in a flea market. Not bad.

Most of the people who lived in a favela are poor people and just like in the movies,  you enter in these places without security. Our guide said that that there are many tourists who went inside this favelas too. Most of them are backpackers but if you still want to enjoy a good, peaceful vacation…just try hitting the beach and not in these places.☺

The Countryside.☺ (San Remigio, Cebu)

By the shores of San Remigio ☺

I would love to keep the tarp (the first design that they had)… LOL! Was surprise to see my photos on it. There is a new one but will post it the next time. By the way, just before you enter the museum, two cannons will welcome you. No, of course not. It doesn’t fire at guests.  These Chinese-inspired cannons are my personal favorite.♥ I was amazed when I found out that there are duckies (aside from the dragons) embossed on it.

Korean Food Trip (Seoul, Korea. July 2011) ☺

Korean cuisine took my heart. I always look forward to lunch and dinner during my 4-day stay in South Korea.
